A machine learning model was run on historic data for our client, Spire Hospitals, to determine which patients attended their GP appointments. This AI model was enabled via a Optalitix Models API interface to ensure real time insights were available for the systems sending emails and texts to patients.
How it was used
Using the insight from these AI models applied to the patient notfication systems, clinics were able send reminders to patients and charge based on expected attendance. Different notification strategies were used depending on the probability of attendance.
A reduction of c30% in attendance resulted from this more active approach to targeting patients that were likely to miss their appointment. This significantly improved predictability for the clinic, and boosted attendance.
